Most basketball hoops let you to adjust the height of your rim from 7 as well as a half for the regulation height of 10 feet. On specific greater end basketball objectives, they may possibly be able to modify even decrease. However the method by which these systems modify can differ extensively.

Adjustment methods fall in two key categories: individuals that allow for six-inch increments and people that allow for “infinite” increments. A basketball rim that adjusts in six-inch increments can adjust at six points in involving 7 as well as a half and a 10 feet: 7.five, 8, 8.five, 9, 9.five and ten feet. With systems which might be infinitely adjustable, you happen to be in a position for making extremely tiny adjustments, like and inch or much less in case you so wish, which means you can set it at any point in between the minimum and maximum height.

I'm not sure if the New York Knicks have all the pieces in place right now, but by adding Carmelo Anthony they are certainly one big step closer to being a NBA championship contender. Although considering the mismanagement over the last 10 years it's heard to believe they won't mess this up too.

Watch for the Knicks to make some strong stragetic moves during this off season to sure things up and make them a true Eastern conference powerhouse.

New York NY Direct TV can bring you all the Knicks action you want.

Two cities that produce NBA Eastern Conference contenders also have the two teams that are favored to win the Super Bowl as the NFL playoffs are set to begin this weekend.

NBA spread betting experts might recognize that Atlanta and Boston produce two East contenders and with the Falcons and Patriots, both cities have the Super Bowl XLV juggernauts as well.

Just as in the NBA’s East, Atlanta’s team is viewed with an eye of pessimism. The Falcons had a great regular season but don’t have a ton of playoff experience. They’re a young squad that is gaining it on the fly.

Meanwhile, Boston’s team - just like in the NBA – is experienced, savvy and has done it before. The Patriots are the odds-on favorites to do it all and considering they’ve won it three times this decade, why bet against them?

Basketball betting is not quite as common as betting on some other sports, but if you do your research, take your time and keep accurate records, there’s no reason you can’t be as successful at betting on basketball as betting on anything else. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Top Basketball Betting Tip: NCAA vs. NBA

Of course you are welcome to bet both college and pro basketball (including the WNBA), like placing your bets in online video poker games, you need to be aware that each type of basketball may have very different factors in play. In college basketball, every game counts, whereas pro teams can afford to drop a few games here and there and still have a great shot at the championship. There may be a much larger disparity between two competing college teams. Know the league you’re betting.

I really like the direction this team is going but I'm not so sure they can really be a contender in the East this year.  The East has gotten a lot stronger over the last few years and while I think they can make the playoffs I don't really see any chance that they can really beat The Magic, the Heat, the Celtics, of the Bulls.  And I'm skeptical they can even beat teams like the 76ers or the Hawks.

What do you think?

Hey gang!

I am excited as the new NBA season approaches. The preseason started last night and that means that we are less than four weeks away from the start of the season. I've got my Gamecenter online so that I can watch games with my computer. I'll spend time on this blog talking about what games I've watched and other exciting news and notes from the NBA.

I have several teams that I love, but my top two teams are the Magic and the Pacers. I used to live in the Orlando area for several years and now live closest to the Pacers. If I get to any of the Pacer games live, then I'll also post pictures from those.

Let's get ready for a fun year. Over the next couple weeks, I'll give you my insights as to who might win the trophy in June.

Congratulations Los Angeles Lakers! When this series started I really thought the Orlando Magic would win their 1st ever NBA title instead it was the Lakers claiming their 15th. I wanted sooooooo badly to hate Kobe Bryant but I couldn't find any reason at all. The guy is the BEST player in the NBA and he is such a professional it almost sickens me. I kept waiting for arrogant Kobe but all I got was a very humble and focused Kobe who said and showed nothing but respect towards his opponents (unlike Queen James). How can you hate a guy that puts that much work and respect into his game? Watching Kobe on TV is like using him in NBA Live, he is just that good. The Lakers were able to do what no other team was able to do, which was slow down and frustrate Dwight Howard using a&nb

You've seen it almost everyday for the past few years, Brett Favre this and Brett Favre that. Love him or hate him but it seems like everyone pays attention to his every move. Up until now I never understood why so many people say they hate Favre, I mean if he still believes he can play at a high level then why not give it a go? How many times have you been hard pressed on a big decision in your life? Don't hate Favre for that, if anything blame the media for over-saturation. Day after day after day they headline where he ate dinner, who he talked to, what kind of jeans he is wearing (Id put my money on Wrangler) because they know that we will watch closely and talk about it as of we know the guy. So I never had a gripe with him (I actually am a fan of the guy) until now. I'm a b

Miguel Cotto (33-1) returns to the ring this Saturday to face a very tough fighter in Joshua Clotty (35-2). This fight promises to be action packed and sure to please boxing fans. If you want to see 2 good boxers actually go toe to toe and fight than this is the fight for you. Both fighters are known for not backing down and standing tall. My prediction: Cotto in 10.

Time and time again this season the Orlando Magic have been tested and counted out and they seem to always bounce back like a team destined for great things. Nobody gave them a shot in hell to beat Boston especially in a Game 7 and then came the Cleveland 'Lebrons' Cavs who seemed to even have the refs on their side. Yet the Magic were able to put it together and shut the haters up. NBA Finals put them against the Lakers and now they find themselves being doubted yet again and who could blame them, I mean Lakers are up 3-1. So the Lakers have this in the bag right? If you have been watching the Magic as long as I have then you should know better than to assume their done especially considering this series could EASILY be 3-1 in favor of Orlando. Game 5 is at home and I find it hard to
